Philodendrons need three basic things for care: sunlight, water, and fertilizer.
It likes bright, indirect sunlight so positioning it near a north or south facing window where the rays will never touch the plant is ideal. If leaves begin to yellow, it's exposed to too much light.
When watering, allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Keep an eye out for drooping leaves, it means it's either getting too much or not enough water.
For some growers, fertilizer can be intimidating. Don't fear, you can use a liquid form every six to eight weeks in the dormant period (fall and winter) and monthly during the growing period (spring and summer). Visit our Plant Pharmacy to choose a fertilizer best suited for the plant's needs!
