It's time to get tropical!

Tropical plants are summer's favorite plant! These beautiful plants are drought tolerant and sun loving. They provide interest for full sun areas, and are ideal for container gardens in our area. They add gorgeous interest to outdoor entertaining spaces, such as poolside patios, porches, or decks. The tropical blooms will make you want to vacation at your own home!

It's easy to incorporate an exotic feel into the landscape with the bright blooms and lush foliage of two of our favorite and most popular tropical plants, Hibiscus & Mandevilla!

Hibiscus

Tropical Hibiscus features bold, round flowers with yellow anthers at the ends of the branches that bloom from mid summer to early fall. Its glossy, pointy leaves remain dark green in color throughout the year. Its medium texture blends into the garden, but can always be balanced by a couple of finer or coarser plants for an effective composition. It is a good choice for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds to your yard, and luckily it's typically not particularly attractive to deer who tend to leave it alone.

Mandevilla

Mandevilla features bold, tubular flowers along the branches from late spring to mid frost. Its glossy, pointy leaves remain dark green in color throughout the year. This tropical twining vine is a lovely choice for trellises, garden fences or walls. It prefers part shade to full sun and lots of moisture! Like its tropical Hibiscus counterpart, Mandevilla is also a great choice for attracting pollinators to the garden or landscape and are also typically left alone by deer.
